For this month's topic, Cheryl will provide a recap of the ILG conference and discuss hot topics in the space of affirmative action and the update regulations.  

 

 

Below is the bio of the guest speaker for the meeting:


 


Cheryl L. Behymer – Fisher & Phillips LLP



Cheryl Behymer is a partner in the firm’s Columbia, South Carolina office and Co-Chair of its Affirmative Action and Federal Contract Compliance practice group.  She dedicates a significant part of her practice to Affirmative Action Plan (AAP) preparation and defending OFCCP compliance reviews.  Cheryl assists employers in evaluating whether they are covered by the affirmative action regulations to determine proper compliance strategies.  Cheryl also provides counsel to clients who prefer to produce their AAPs internally or through a third-party vendor.  For several years, Cheryl has conducted training seminars at the National Industry Liaison Group (NILG) Conference and speaks regularly on affirmative action topics in other venues, including the Charlotte Area Liaison Group (CALG).


Cheryl provides counsel and training, and defense, when
needed, in workplace harassment, immigration compliance, employee leave issues involving the Family and Medical Leave Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, as well as other labor and employment issues.


Cheryl is involved in several state and local organizations devoted to encouraging,  supporting and educating employers as they seek to increase diversity in the workplace. She is a former Chair of the South Carolina Diversity Council, a committee of the state Chamber of Commerce, and a board member of the South Carolina Industry Liaison Group (SCILG).  Cheryl is also a co-chair for the 2016 NILG Conference that will be held in Charlotte, North Carolina. 


Registration deadline is Friday, August 15, 2014.


Lunch will be provided at no charge   for members. $15 for guests and non-members. Everyone welcome!
